Dental Implants With a Flat Apex
The apex of a dental implant is the end opposite the head of the implant. A flat apex, i.e. one that ends in a plateau, offers less important primary stability than an implant with an aggressive tip, but this design allows the bone to be compressed at its end and does not present a risk of lesioning any anatomically possible obstacles. This is an interesting design when implanted under the sinus membrane or near the inferior alveolar nerve.
Spotimplant references 778 dental implants with a flat apex from 210 different brands.
